東日本大震災被災者支援義援金のお願い
ニューヨーク日本商工会議所と日本クラブは震災直後より「J.C.C.ファンド」内に被災者支援の受け皿を設け、会員企業及びコミュニティーの皆様に広く支援を呼びかけておりましたが、お蔭様にてこれまでに企業及び個人から寄せられた義援金の総額が146万ドル(2011年10月1日現在)に達しました。皆様のご支援心より感謝致します。
また、今後も2012年3月一杯まで広く義援金を受け付けることとなりました。 引き続いての皆様のご支援何卒宜しくお願い申し上げます。

皆様から寄せられました貴重な義援金の送付先につきまして、ニューヨーク日本商工会議所、日本クラブの特別役員会で慎重な検討がなされました。その結果、9月20日までに寄せられた義援金は、下記の団体を通じ、被災地、被災者及び復興支援に役立てられます。
中央共同募金会
各都道府県共同募金会と連携し、「全国災害たすけあい」を実施。被災者の方々の救済の一助とするために災害義援金を募集している。
特定非営利法人 パブリックソースセンター
100以上のNPO、NGO団体を持つ非営利のシンクタンクで、様々な活動への援助を行っている。
Japan NPO Center (日本NPOセンター)
特定非営利活動法人市民社会創造ファンドと協力して、「東日本大震災現地NPO応援基金」を設置。本基金は、救援や生活再建のための活動を行う現地のNPO等に資金的な援助を行っている。
Signal of Hope Project (希望の烽火)
東北漁港機能の早期再開支援プロジェクト。
Taylor Anderson Memorial Gift Fund （テイラー・アンダーソン追悼基金）
震災の犠牲になったテイラー・アンダーソンさんが卒業したセント・キャサリン
高等学校と、遺族が中心となって立ち上げた基金。本基金への寄付は、学校の再建などに役立てられる。
IsraAID
医療支援団として震災直後の救命と、復旧支援に尽力し、現在も引き続き被災者への精神カウンセリングを行っている。
Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of New York and The Nippon Club have raised over $1.46 million for Japan Disaster Relief through the 2011 Northeastern Japan Earthquake Relief Fund.
Immediately after the devastating earthquake and tsunami hit northeastern Japan, JCCI and The Nippon Club established the 2011 Northeastern Japan Earthquake Relief Fund through the Chamber's J.C.C. Fund to aid victims of this tragedy. In addition to this relief fund, the JCCI and Nippon Club have held various fundraising events such as lectures, sports activities and cultural events—all focused on raising more money for relief.
Thanks to your generous contributions to the Fund, as well as your participation in fundraising events such as 19th Annual San-Betsu Charity Golf Tournament, we have raised over $1.46 million for relief efforts as of October 1, 2011. We greatly appreciate your support.
Furthermore, we were touched that many former participants of the Chamber's U.S. Educators Program have been taking it upon themselves to organize grassroots fundraising campaigns in their schools, districts and communities to raise funds for Japan disaster relief. We are so moved that in this time of need, Japanese and Americans alike have come together to support this cause.
On April 19th, JCCI and Nippon Club held a joint steering committee meeting to decide about the allocation of $1,000,000 in funds raised for disaster relief. It was decided that the funds raised until April 30, 2011 would be allocated equally to the following organizations:
- The Central Community Chest of Japan (providing direct monetary support to the victims of the disaster)
- Center for Public Resource Development (an umbrella organization of over 100 NGO/NPOs in Japan on the ground to provide immediate disaster relief.) These organizations include:
-Japan NPO Center
-Signal of Hope Project
-Taylor Anderson Memorial Gift Fund
-IsraAID
Another $200,000 in contributions has been decided at the JCCI and Nippon Club joint steering committee meeting held on October 14, 2011 and announced at JCCI's 27th Annual Dinner on November 15 at the Hilton New York.
